The historical scoring stage in the heart of Vienna offers cutting-edge recording technology and superior acoustics for a wide variety of ensembles and musical styles – from chamber music to big symphony orchestras and choirs, from film and TV music to video games and commercials. Many international composers and film studios are amazed by the facility’s outstanding features like Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control Productions, Disney+, Amazon Video, BBC or Tencent.
From its construction in the early 1940s until the 1950s, the facility shared its history with the Rosenhügel Filmstudios. Because of the built-in “Lenkwil” cinema organ the building is classified as a historical monument. Eminent classical artists such as Karl Böhm, Herbert von Karajan or Yehudi Menuhin also used the “Synchronhalle” for many legendary recordings.
After its renovation and re-opening in 2015 Synchron Stage Vienna is considered one of the best recording studios in the world. Stage A, the large main hall, accommodates orchestras of up to 130 musicians and boasts exceptional acoustic properties for recording in various sound formats. Control Room A, the majestic 115 m² bridge of this massive studio complex offers ample space for staff members of all departments and listeners alike. Up to 96 channels can be recorded at once with the huge SSL Duality Console.
